Oh yeah that worked so well during and after his first term. Don’t try to be better than Trump about him; he will use that to go even lower. The time for polite words is LONG GONE.

Look, I used to work for the US federal government, and my wife and many friends still do. He fucking came after us and treated us like absolute fucking shit. Fucking Musk with his fucking chainsaw bullshit. They worked hard to make everyone’s lives a living hell, and all we were trying to do is serve the fucking country, doing one the very few functions that the Constitution actually specifies (Trump and his team wouldn’t know that, of course). I worked there for 25 years, under both parties, and never saw anything like the shit he did; even the Republican posturing about lazy government employees never actually came through in our work; behind the scenes they treated us like human beings. Unlike Trump.

Our work was apolitical and widely regarded as some of the best quality in the world. I worked with a LOT of extremely smart people; there was very little dead wood. And, even the people I didn’t get along with, I never once questioned their commitment to simply doing the best job they could - we might disagree on the best way to do something, but we knew everyone just wanted the best for their program. Occasionally people would get into arguments in meetings, which wasn’t great - but, in some ways, it was refreshing, because they wouldn’t get upset if they didn’t care.

The whole plan by this administration - headed by Trump - was to put fear into government employees so they’d fucking quit. It’s fucking bullshit. Oh and the stupid fucks haven’t actually cut programs, just staff, so that will all come out in the wash in a few years, which they’ll use to argue that government is useless.

His asshole lieutenant, Lutnick, came in and further insulted everyone to their faces (one example: “I’ve never seen telework be effective” - to a crowd that had been doing it quite successfully, full time, for almost 5 years), and would only answer pre-approved questions. I had hoped he might be the one sane voice in the administration, but he’s fully on board the Trump train.

Trump has also destroyed an institution I loved, the Kennedy Center. If it survives his “leadership”, I will donate to helping it come back to its former glory after he’s gone. My wife and a good friend of ours used to have season tickets, and I frequently went there as well for shows. (Most recently, we saw Schmigadoon, just a few weeks before Trump was inaugurated the second time. John Oliver, Million Dollar Quartet, Book of Mormon, Shear Madness, Ain’t 2 Proud (twice), Spamalot, An American in Paris, Phantom of the Opera…those are just a few shows I saw there over the years, off the top of my head. There are plenty more.)

A couple we’re very good friends with was trying to have a baby and had various problems along the way. Fortunately we live in a state with constitutional rights around abortion, but the policies Trump and his allies have pushed would have killed our friend in some other states, and there have been examples of women running into these problems in other states. It’s inhuman.

In light of all of the other shit he has done, this is all small potatoes, but it’s also very personal. He has know idea who I am, but he treated me, my wife, and our friends like shit, just because of the jobs we had. So, he has lost any right for politeness from me.

I hope someday I can piss on his grave in exchange for a donation to causes that he attacked. I’m done being the “bigger man”; I’m ready see him in hell.

For the record, I’m the guy that argued that the Boston bomber should have received a proper burial. Remember that a lot of people did not want him buried in a nearby graveyard, but I’m the one that argued that society should rise above the crime he committed (eventually a graveyard secretly took him in). So, yeah, I get where you’re coming from, but Trump has gone too far to warrant a kind response.
