Saw a documentary on salt making in the UK.
Making salt in a cold country like the UK is wildly energy-intensive.
In India, all you need is a salt pan on a sunny flat. Energy cost is near zero.
So why does the UK still do this?
It makes makes no sense. People could shift to higher-value activities. Salt could be imported from warmer countries, with higher-value chemicals flowing back.
Both sides get richer. #Trade is not a zero-sum game.
