What atheism is:

#atheism #religion

@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon I read once "If atheism were a religion, then 'off' would be a TV channel".
@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon
that's more agnosticism.

@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon @VoxClamans They aren't mutually exclusive. I'm an agnostic atheist. I don't believe there is a god, but I reserve the right to change my mind should any actual evidence surface.

I recognize that there is not enough evidence to confidently make an assertion regarding the existence or nonexistence of such an entity. This makes me agnostic. But I still lack any belief in such an entity, because it is easier to reconcile with the rest of my understanding about the universe. This makes me an atheist.

@hosford42 @The_Whore_of_Blahbylon
no evidence at all, either of the existence of God, or non-existence: no one can prove there is no god, or that God exists. Humility is a plus for everyone.
So the real scientific position is agnosticism.
If you're a believer, the Big Bang is the Creation. If you're not, you just stand by, your mouth open but no sound, slightly ridiculous.
Anyway, death gives the definitive answer. I'm not in a hurry.
@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon World is made of complex, and I usually make judgments based on the situation.
