Funny that after decades of sci-fi asking “what if we made an AI that was actually alive but nobody believed it was?”, we instead seem to be dealing with “what if we made an AI that was definitely not alive but lots of people believed it was?”
@beccadax the orville has the android isaac, who a lot of the characters anthropomorphize and project onto. heck, dr finn even dates it while a bunch of other characters are like "wtf, it's an unfeeling AI that doesn't see the point of biological life" and it causes a big divide in the crew
