Bullshit Meter - Jon Worth

This is my simple system to call out bullshit stories about railways - the Rail Story Bullshit Meter. Stories I encounter will be scored on a four point scale: 💩 Bullshit - I can see no way it can happen, 🤔 Good idea, don't believe it - it could happen, but there are major hurdles to overcome, 🛠️ Should happen - more or less everything is in place to make it happen, but something might prevent it still, 🙂 Will happen - everything is ready. Go ahead and book a ticket for it!

@jon very interesting. I haven’t kept up enough with European rail to make my own bullshit assessments.

I’ll add one though: HSL Zuid back at 300kph track speed by 2031 https://www.prorail.nl/nieuws/prorail-bereidt-groot-herstel-hsl-zuid-in-2028-voor

Given the history of this ill fated high speed route I would call this unlikely.

In 2028 voert ProRail belangrijke werkzaamheden uit aan de hogesnelheidslijn (HSL-Zuid). Met deze werkzaamheden hoopt ProRail de vertragingen op de HSL met ongeveer de helft terug te dringen.
