Large Format Projectionist

I worry how much power my #TrueNAS server draws. (Dell #T430 ) I get a 115w peak every week or so, then averaging around 84 watts.

Sheesh, is that too much?

Then I look at the max of 1700watts and figure I could be doing much worse.

(Are there more efficient boxes? yes. Are their easier ones to setup? No.)

@BenHM3 It certainly could be worse! Hard to beat the performance and reliability of old enterprise gear, though!

@BenHM3 I used to run a R530 and R730 prior to my server upgrades in early 2025, and they were rock solid.

Though my newer hardware is amazing and totally overkill, I do miss features like iDRAC.

I was looking at both of those. Decided the deskside form factor would be quieter.

It's damn near silent at these loads.

The computer room kinda turned into an uninhabited server room, so it hasn't really been an issue.

At least not until we started missing having a desk to work on. ​​
