I don't do any drugs, but watching Metropolis (1927) makes me think that getting into an altered state and trying to flow this would be an experience.

I remember so distantly now the writing as having techno-mystical elements but overall an emotional intensity as if giving beautiful instructions breathlessly to the actors how to emote, the director how to stage and the editors, the editors, the editors how to physically portray political struggle and philosophical concepts in silent fillm.
