Last edited January 22, 2026 I’m going to assume that if you’re reading this, you more or less understand the situation in Minnesota and I don’t have to explain it to you! That sa…

@evacide My favorite advice from the article is about reframing ICE in terms the right wing has always been terrified by. Create the cognitive dissonance that can shake peoples' thoughts free.

"If you’re talking to a Republican and you are a Democrat, don’t feel any need to mention your party loyalties to the person who supposedly represents you. Instead, you could try using the phrase “jackbooted government thugs” (thanks, Wayne LaPierre!) You could say that demanding people produce their papers on demand is communism. You could say that a masked secret police that breaks down doors to abduct citizens out of their own homes is profoundly un-American.

But say it. Say it now, say it tomorrow, say it next week."

And use the phrase "extra-judicial summary executions".

@groovemd @evacide After the last murder, right wing commenters are pretty heavy on "but the dude had a gun, he should have expected this". The freaking NRA had to come out and defend this.

I don't think cognitive dissonance works with such people.

@riffraff @evacide Keeping the pressure up from every quarter is a drain on the fascists' attention and energy, and keeps them on the reactive side. Prod their slothful intellects into expected action and make them work for every second of defense, even in their minds. Wear their asses down and leave them no comfort but the truth of the consequences of their beliefs.
@evacide Amazing resource. Thank you so much for sharing.
@evacide Thank you for boosting this. This is absolutely genuinely helpful advice.
