So I have a book called Fractal Cuts by Diego Uribe, and pretty much every time I try to make one of the designs in it, I end up with something different. It continues to amaze me what can be made with a piece of paper and a pair of scissors. #origami #mathart

@gwenbeads just looked this book up and found it on internet archive. Tried one randomly and bought the book. looks fun.

Also, great photography here. I thought this was rendered.

@bit101 yes, this is a photo of a piece of orange printer paper. I’ve been trying to make Uribe’s designs without cutting up the book, using just paper and a pair of scissors. His method is to mark the paper and cut with a knife. To me, that way is less fun, although it probably gives more reliable results than what I’m doing.
@gwenbeads Yeah, I had a quick go with a regular sheet of white paper and some scissors and a few best-guess cuts and it was pretty cool. Look forward to getting the book and having a deeper dive.
