Anyone have a VNC setup they really like in 2026? Requirements: no cloud aspect required (LAN/Tailscale is good), iPhone, iPad, Mac/web app
@christianselig screens supports tailscale
@lessphiling do you still need a subscription at that point? I don’t really want to rely on third party dependencies for this so would be looking for a one-time purchase
@christianselig @lessphiling OTP is available, but it’s incredibly expensive like over $100. I still use the legacy screens 4, works great
@tweece @lessphiling oof. I might just look into Jump Desktop or something. I’m sure that price is worth it to some but I’m a very infrequent VNC user
@christianselig @lessphiling Let me know what you end up on. I use macOS built in screen sharing very often on my local network to manage my headless Mac mini, but I very rarely need to access it remotely/via iOS but it’s nice to have when I want it, and I’m sure screens 4 will stop working one day
@christianselig I don’t think subscription is needed unless using iOS but I’m not entirely sure
