Probably the most famous piece of Masonic music written is The Magic Flute (KV 620, Die Zauberflöte) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), first performed in Vienna in 1791.
Its references to Freemasonry, and to figures of the time well known for their Masonic connections, have influenced many over the centuries since, and selections of the music are played in Lodges to this day.
