165. #photography John Day Fossil Beds National Monument - Painted Hills Unit. Another wild place on the Oregon trip that I have surviving pictures from
166. #photography Tree and waterfall. This is on the far side of Gooseberry Falls, you have to go down and around the falls to get to this vantage point
Also #waterfallwednesday
172. #photography Paul Bunyan statue. This is not the famous statue in Bemidji but rather another one in Northern Minnesota. Minnesota has a *bunch* of the things scattered around. There is even one of Paul Bunyan's girlfriend.
189. #photography a shot from Kodachrome Basin, which is a state park in Utah much less well known than the Big 5 National Parks. this place was all the layers all the time. I also went off trail here and nearly came to disaster.
190. #photography This is he head and just the head of one of the wooden statues at the MN State fairgrounds. I took this shot far removed from the fair itself. (there are many things that happen on the grounds every year and if there isn't, you can just wander around on foot or by car...
191 #photography Are you "Tired" of these photos (even if, eep, 500 of you liked the initial post)? This is back at the St. Paul Saints games, which have funky games between innings...
193. #photography During @[email protected] , a swordfight. One of my few non-for-the-con pictures, I was mostly on duty. But in some down time, I came across this exhibition
200. #photography
For number 200, one of the classic Princejvstin shots . This is Cho Oyu, 6th tallest mountain in the world. And yes we are in Nepal, not Tibet, although Tibet is on the other side of that thing.
204. #photography Black and white grain silos out on the plains (in Britton SD to be precise). You saw an earlier photo taken here in this series focused on the rail tracks.
209 #photography
The Bean, Chicago.
I'll be in Chicago late next week for @[email protected] . Not sure if I will be able to get back downtown for the Bean
212. #photography From the ill fated Oregon Trip, A view down the Columbia River Valley Gorge. A landmark popular with locals is visible on the next cliff over.
I should try and reprocess some of the photos that survived over again like this and see if I can improve them with better editing skills
214. #photography Fall is so pretty in Minnesota, isn't it? And a road into the frame shot. The figure is my friend Mike, this was a visit to the Minnesota Landscape Arbroetum.
218. #photography Oregon State Capitol. I didn't linger, because there were a host of conservative activists protesting around that day and I felt unsafe.
221. Here's another Bison picture, but in a different park (TRNP). The non plussed way it's looking at me (I am in a car, to be clear) amuses me. Much more pleasant than my next meeting with a Bison...but that's another story #photography
