inessential: Email from Family in Minnesota

@brentsimmons Thanks for sharing. This fascist movement is growing world wide but the US is probably the most unexpected over the last 10 years or so. Crazy and deeply worrying times.
@brentsimmons thanks for sharing. As a Minnesotan in a similar position, I can relate and echo much of the same feeling and proaction of your family. Wishing them well.
@brentsimmons As an outstate Minnesotan, who happens to be of the Scandahoovian persuasion, i’ve chosen to look at it as that the darkest of times are just a prelude to gratitude. 9/11 reminded us to appreciate those who are closest to us, and covid made us appreciate good health and our freedom to be out and about. Now we are reminded to appreciate those that quietly go about making our lives and experiences better. We’re looking to tangibly help those who need help.

@brentsimmons I've got family and friends back in MN, too, like you -- and presumably like you, I've been watching these crimes with horror and disbelief and rage and revulsion.

Minnesotans were probably targetted because they are kind and welcoming and decent, and were expected to fold like a house of cards. Well, the same people known for "Minnesota Nice" also delivered the First Minnesota, who held their ground despite overwhelming attack crashing down on them like a wave.

I believe in Minnesota the way I believe in the Constitution, and I expect both of them to prevail. Good luck & God bless to your favorite Gophers.
