I don't think it's anywhere close to the Internet itself (saying this as someone who uses these tools a lot for work) but I do think it's important to use them. on the other hand, I think a lot of people are overstating the impact w/r/t developing large and complex applications with them.
they're very useful for startups and small codebases (where the hype is coming from), but I work on a codebase that's 15+ years old and has hundreds of developers, the impact is less revolutionary and more "oh, handy, now I can move a little bit faster"
Handy for legacy codebases too, but still great for MVP sprints!
