I'd add the absorption into the cultural DNA of the country of the idea of impunity, not just for tax evasion ("that makes me smart") and white collar crime generally but also violence. It didn't begin with Jonathan Ross or Jan 6, or Hollywood. Some of it dates from Hiroshima and the conceit of the US as "the greatest" (all powerful), able to do as it pleases.
