Human beings are generally creative. And creativity is organic, so output shifts and morphs over time. Because it is organic, you can’t have 9 mothers make a baby in one month.

So even if you are working on technical software, creativity and organic development are still part of the process.

This hopefully seems very obvious when written down, yet many projects still treat those estimates as iron clad deadlines.

They are just shooting themselves in the foot to please managers who still think building software is only a technical endeavour. Alright, go hire 9 mothers, good luck!
