I just declined to review for a paywalled/hybrid Wiley journal... and was given absolutely no means of communicating why I declined in the process.

Just a pathway through to: "thanks for letting us know" (byeee!!!)

I was locked and loaded, ready to tell the editor that I don't review for paywalled commercial journals that siphon-off large profit margins from the research ecosystem. I wonder if this 'efficiency' is somewhat deliberate to shield editors from such critique?

@rmounce Email the handling editor directly. (That's what I've done in similar situations.)

So I don't think that's the email address I'm looking for tbh...
