Me too. I joined the #forkiverse after a few years of using PeerTube and Lemmy, but not really paying much attention to Mastodon. A few days in and I'm remembering why I wasn't into Twitter, even before it's current iteration: microblogging just isn't my jam. Having a great time lurking though!

@muninn @matthijs I never used Twitter... it always seemed like a cleverness contest and that is my fear here in the #forkiverse as well. Time will tell. Lots of muting happening today

@greenboo @muninn Yeah, I think specific niches like book discussions could work. But the moment it's just a free for all, people seem to pile on each other to attempt to be the cleverest dick.
