Trump's not the first official given someone else’s Nobel Prize. In 1943, Norwegian novelist Knut Hamsun gave his medal to Goebbels, Hitler’s Minister of Propaganda. Like Machado, who applauded Trump’s invasion of her own country, and handed Trump the “peace” prize, Hamsun applauded Hitler’s invasion of HIS country. Machado praised Trump’s “commitment with our freedom,” as Hamsun praised Hitler as “a warrior for mankind.” So, will fascists giving their Nobel medals to dictators become a trend?
