This CES will be my last trip to the US for a while. Sadly I've signed some contracts already so I can't cancel, but Jesus Christ

@Techaltar if you haven't booked the flights already, strong recommend to cross immigration from a safe country, and not on US soil. You can do that in Dublin and Montreal (and prob other, but I know of those two).

Edit: just saw the dates... nvm.

@Techaltar

I'm a US citizen and I was already pretty nervous about it. Now I am even more nervous. I was detained under the last admin for a couple of hours.

So uh given current events, my own status as member of a minority being targeted, and my political beliefs... well... yeah.

@Techaltar Crossing fingers...🀞🀞🀞🀞.
If things go badly, we will find out something credible about all those CECOT centres that have so far been so secretive.

@Techaltar

Have the 5 year of social media history rule got live yet?

@tsvenson that's for esta holders. I have a visa to which required social media reporting even before this

@Techaltar

Last time I was in USA, was for DrupalCon in Denver 2012. Back then it was said you could get your hard drive cloned, at worst, when entering.

Sadly, we are probably still in the beginning of this.

It would be very interesting to see a TechAltar collaboration with for example TLDR News on an in-depth history, current state and trend in the world on this tech and politics topic. Including risks in the country entered, such as having to install mandatory softare, etc.
