Oh my latest stream on #earthmodularSociety has been uploaded to our archive channel.

Here I'm trying my new Klima and Kiel atmospheric logic modules to ping filters and trigger melodic sounds. The Klima makes a set of triggers using a sensor which detects barometric pressure, temperature, humidity, and altitude, and the Kiel creates random modulation voltage based on it.

i could have brought this patch to the show next week but the module is so new to me and i don't know what will happen in, say, a hot room. i think it might get way faster

so i'll make a new patch where it's less of an integral part of the set just to be safe

@forestine this was a very soothing one, glad i was able to listen in live ☺️

@forestine Wow! I really like these biofeedback ideas.

I'm curently waiting for the Scion module to try it with plants and trees for a future dance piece.

@elytres very cool! yeah there seems to be a musical application for anything that can generate a signal
@forestine Are those modules (Klima and Kiel) aimed to this specific use, or is it your way of using those?
@elytres not sure what specific use you mean but i like having sources of random and time and place in my work, though it tends to be fairly controlled. i also have a Pet Rock which is nominally connected to the phase of the moon, but in practice that means a preprogrammed rhythm pattern every day that everyone with that module shares. i picked the Klima because i have a chronic condition that is affected by atmospheric conditions that the module also measures, which i thought was neat thematically to connect my work to my body
@forestine and talking about body connection to the synth, have you considered (or tried) the Landscape FM AllFlesh?
@elytres those are cool but i have a more "spinning plates" patching style than wanting to have to touch stuff to make it go, if that makes sense

@forestine Great! Thanks for those explanations.
I totally see the appeal of atmospheric influenced voltages.

The moon one seems more deceptive, maybe?

@elytres i think the moon one is pretty clear about what it does though, also is super affordable as a gift from the maker to the community
@forestine I mean: I would love a module that generate different CVs from eg. the moon phase, his altitude, etc.
Not so mich interested in a prerecordes rythm, but that's just me :)

@elytres there's another one called Almanac that makes LFOS based on the position of the planets using gps

but like all of these have to decide what the voltage means and what useful thing you get out of it, in that sense

@forestine yes!
All those options are interesting!
