@cabel Heads up your images don’t load for me in Ice Cubes iOS for some reason.
@vants hmm, it’s a video… hmmm
@cabel @vants Same for me on Ivory, and going to https://social.panic.com/@cabel/115900091740842965 in Safari shows the video preview image but the video won’t play (FWIW, I’ve had the same experience with all videos you’ve posted, but until now I figured it was something my end).

Panic Social
@gfitzp @vants strangely, i’m using ice cubes and it plays fine for me. 🥴 ok friends how do we debug this
@cabel @gfitzp tapping on the gray squircle opens a blank white popover thing that I’m assuming must be an attempt at previewing the vid.
@vants @gfitzp is this a network/CDN issue, where our media server is t reachable by you? how do we get the source URL haha
@cabel @vants It's working for me now (on Fios wifi, earlier was on VZ cellular), and connecting my phone to my computer so I could use the web inspector in Safari. I cleared my phone's cache and it's trying to reach https://social-media-cdn.panic.com/media_attachments/files/115/900/090/250/480/802/original/24f127a3defcf4c7.mp4 It also looked like it started to load, then had to maybe load the whole video before it could play?
@cabel @vants With the first load of the file being only 2 bytes before loading the rest, I wonder if that's what causes it to fail to be pulled down to my server and causing the blank image? https://social.glennfitzpatrick.com/@c[email protected]/115900094865773774

@cabel @vants @gfitzp I'm seeing the same thing on my server.

Mastodon doesn't play media directly from the origin server; it caches a copy locally and plays it from the user's server. It looks to me like none of our servers were able to get a copy of the media from your server to cache; if I view it in the Mastodon web interface, it shows a broken preview and a "click to preview on the remote server" link. I wonder why none of our servers were able to fetch it?

@cabel loved that place as a kid
@cabel dang, 8 minutes and change is really good! maybe they didn’t need to get their tickets stamped (scanned?) at each of the four towers for this run?
@mnemonica i thought the same thing!! i think it was like an hour in most cases?!

@cabel i definitely exceeded an hour on my run. when you come out there’s a wall taking about fastest times, and i think a guy had done the whole maze in like 12min? (my memory could be totally wrong)

also if you finish under a certain time (i think 1h) you got a free pass to come back!

@mnemonica also i love that we share this memory!!
@cabel I remember being disappointed that i only found out at the end that you get a free pass if you finish in under an hour. I was/am very competitive and tried to finish it quickly; on the other hand I was at a middle-school birthday party and maybe not paying attention if there was some sign on the way in mentioning that XD
@cabel I spent one of my birthdays there when I was a kid. It was so fun, especially with my friends.
