i kinda hate how the death of IRC slashed off a bunch of my online social bubble (i moved to discord after a bunch of my regular irc channels were abandoned by everyone else, then they also abnadoned the discord server that was supposed to be the replacement...)

@tametick I'm pretty sure if I fired up some IRC client, I'd find the same people on #coders making the same gay jokes still.

@sol_hsa i was in some roguelike dev and gamejam (mostly ludum dare main-chan spin offs) related channels and they all died years ago. Or at least greatily diminished.

I was usually not on the massive channels but on "semi-private" channels with a couple dozen folks at most.
