Lol, typing a URL from the ArcGIS user magazine for their magazine's URL shortener takes me unexpected and possible bad places (because they just map arcg.is to bitly). Bad cybersecurity practice, IMHO. Especially since you can't tell a the difference between letter "O" and number "0" and the difference between the letter "l" and the number "1".

This did not lead where expected.
The first page I ended up on. Looks like Bitly now has a "preview" link on it.

Anyway, at risk of overloading their servers, there is a really cool 3D model of all the Easter Island "moai" there. and you can see some stuff that is apparently inaccessible even to archeologists/etc. because of the terrain and sensitivity of the site. Link here:

Apparently they were carved right there and moved down the hill.
@ai6yr You will like this video, where the gentleman responsible for that mapping is interviewed at length.

@david Looks like the URL got scrambled, but yes, probably!
@ai6yr just watched a show recently about them. They carved the front and sides in situ and then cut under to free it. Then they were slid downhill into prepared hollows to get them more vertical. Lastly they removed the remaining rock from the back.

@ai6yr

that's awesome. some fun stuff there
