I've had to abandon my playthough of #DeliverUsTheMoon because I found the Steamdeck's performance to be (basically) unplayable.

It started well enough, I was getting a steady 45FPS at medium/high settings but as we progress through the game it started to chug...

I knocked it down to the lowest possible settings with some resolution scaling for good measure and even then, I'm struggling to maintain 20FPS.

The Deck is absolutely powerful enough to run this game, so I've got no idea what's going on.

Real shame because I was having a blast with it, it's just essentially unplayable for me.

Apparently the game is 'Steam Deck Verified'.

Which goes to show how....misunderstood that entire programme is.

I can read the text. My button presses work. All functionality is accessible when using the Decks' default control method....and yet; it runs like a potato.

@danielholt tbh, I'm a bit sceptical of anything that's in the unreal engine on deck. I usually double check on steamdeckhq.com for a performance review 😕

Often disappointing

@Hundstrasse

I thought I could 'muddle' through with medium/30 but even that was too much apparently.

Heck, at one point my cut-scenes were hitting the heady hights of 8FPS. Eight.

@danielholt ".... And here we see the protagonist doing something important. Next slide please"

@Hundstrasse

I'm checking the Steam community pages and whilst there's a majority of people saying it runs like trash, there's a few dissenting voices that are adamant it runs fine.

Guess I'm spending my evening tweaking more....
