There are three colours that inspire me in The Arctic. The green of auroras. The pink of the morning sky. The deep orange of hot embers in a fire.

This thread is what happens when I sit in front of a dying wood fire, and obsess over the infinite possibilities with ICM.

Somewhere in the back of my brain there's a bunch of math going on when I play with ICM. Something deep in my mind knows what's going on, but just refuses to tell the rest of me. So I keep quiet and let my hands do what they think is best.

And nobody is more surprised and happy to see what comes of the photo than me.

@ewen @ewen All gorgeous but I particularly like the second and fourth images 👏🏻
@StevenLawsonPhotography

Was hoping you'd see these ones Steven :)

Have written a few words on these for a collection in the zine. Found myself really immersing into the moment, and connecting with my creative energy. Felt like it was taking me somewhere.
@ewen It's often challenging to successfully balance the movement and light/colours with ICM but those two in particular are perfect examples of getting it spot-on. I love that feeling when technique, subject and vision all match up, like it did for you here - it's so rewarding.
@ewen We have heavy rain over the next few days and I have a thought brewing which involves blending the night-time rain-on-glass and ICM techniques. It might all prove too much, but it should be fun finding out.
@ewen Number 4 is wonderful!
@carusb

:) Thanks Chris. I like the complexity in that one, without being too chaotic. Wish I could remember what I did to make it!
@ewen in psych we call that expertise!
