We're suspending the user fasterthanlime @ hachyderm.io for harassment of a Puerto Rican FOSS contributor and being a sloperator (someone who ruins the environment and code quality using ai).

The FOSS contributor, that fasterthanlime harassed, created an open source list of software projects infected with ai slop, and was harassed into leaving the FOSS community by people such as fasterthanlime who love LLMs more than they love BIPOC fems in this community.

What they did was shameful. They have tens of thousands of followers on fedi and thousands on GitHub. They knew what they were doing.

Fasterthanlime even went and removed all references to Kat's associated projects, such as KDL, and kept publicly shaming her. This is highly inappropriate and unprofessional.

LLM defenders are not allowed on this instance, especially if they harass Puerto Rican comrades out of the FOSS community. This is awful.

Anyone coming to defend LLMs or LLM users in the comments will be suspended.

@tootadmin do you have receipts of the harassment outside of the couple of cringe posts (i already saw normally) and the exceptionally cringe pr
to me, harassment would mean like several posts actively directing people to do some action but if you define it differently then you could explain that
@tootadmin although i did notice other pro-"ai" (pro-sludge code) individuals harassing that person but it wasn't specifically amos
@tauon @tootadmin on the contrary, the "openslopware" repository was created as a personal vendetta against one specific transfem, which you can see for yourself if you look at the initial commit
@whitequark @tauon This is incorrect.
@tootadmin @whitequark the original repo seems to have been taken down, but plenty forks exist. The initial commit is that nearly empty readme, the second commit is most likely what whitequark was referencing, as that does add a single project. The next several additions were made by other people. I think some more history on this would help clear things up here
@tauon They had an entire thread of people chiming in to be cruel to her for her legit slop list. And that PR removed all her previous contributions from a major project. It was over 200 files changed to remove support for KDL, a config language she wrote and helps maintain.

@tootadmin @tauon

Its very much a classic instance of "Look what you made me do" abuse.
The sloperator intentionally sabotages the git-repo by removing existing popular functionality to cause down-stream harm and frames it as Kat's fault. The justification provided is that Kat wronged the sloperator by putting their repo on a list of projects using AI, yet then uses AI to sabotage the repo and remove Kat's work.

One of the most insidious thought patterns is the victim-blaming mentality. Abusers often convince themselves – and attempt to convince others – that their victims are responsible for the abuse they endure. “Look what you made me do” becomes their mantra, absolving themselves of responsibility and placing the burden of their actions on their victims.

@scremlin @tauon yep. Here's the evidence of the sloperator's response to their harm too. They feel no remorse for their actions.
@tootadmin @scremlin @tauon The last paragraph is fucking evil. That's what people who know full well they've harassed someone out say. Like, "oh they just decided to severe relationship, happens to everyone". Ouch.

@tootadmin @tauon > And that PR removed all her previous contributions from a major project.

Kat has never contributed to this project.

What was removed is the dependence on other projects which are unchanged.

Nobodys previous contributions were removed.

@calisti @tauon They removed all references to KDL because it was associated with Kat, because KDL was initially designed by Kat, and is still partially maintained by her. This was was incredibly unprofessional.
@calisti @tauon updated to reflect the pettiness of removing two external libraries by someone you hate because they called you out for using LLMs. Thanks.

@tootadmin @tauon To be honest, being put on a list (as individual person, not just their projects!), I understand how Amos didn’t feel comfortable basing their work on top of the Kat who made themselves a witch hunter.

I feel like the “witch hunt” term is rather appropriate, looking at your initial post. Whipping up an incinerating yet inappropriate racism argument seems far fetched, as far as I have seen the goings on with my own eyes.
