Idk I feel like xl wouldn't necessarily be a priority for fairy hunters but he certainly becomes a nuisance to them. He usually springs a trap or two so other fairies don't get caught in em and usually frees the odd fairy or two
So like he's more of a pest than anything else. Unfortunately this means that most fairy hunters have no qualms about trying to smoosh him like a bug rather than capturing him. This means xl being there tough cookie he is kinda gets looney tunes thrown all over the place
Little dude is resilient tho, and one time while saving a fairy he even gets stuck in a little matchbox... except trying to drown him a human throws it into a river
It's cold and wet and it's the dead of winter so it freezes shut
Xl is a royal fae so he's not /that/ easy to kill so he's just stuck. (Hehehe coffin) and it's so cold he goes into like a hibernation state almost?? Except he keeps waking up hungry cold and in a dark box.
He finally gets freed in the spring time when a friendly centipede (Ruoye) pries open the box because he wanted a cold dark place to curl up and oh! There's a fairy in here! And xl finally feels warm sun in his skin and wakes up
He has to lay low for a minute now because he's so weak but eventually he bounces back...like he usually does but now he's got a centipede pal!
Then you know badda bing badda boom bottle meeting and hc just kinda murders every fairy hunter he comes across :3
