A Co-operative for Public Broadcasting (#CPB) is a brilliant idea.

Imagine national broadcasters - like BBC (UK), ABC (Australia), Radio- & TV New Zealand, NPR & PBS (USA), AFP (International & France), Deutsche Welle, NRK (Norway) and so many more - forming an org to centralise financial management, and thereby serve as a firewall against political interference.

It could allow government-funded-, for-profit-, and not-for-profit- #news orgs to focus on #journalism, & #CPB to focus on funds.

@Amgine Like EBU? Didn't go too well so far. :)

Dang it, Nemo, you are littering my day with rabbit holes!

#EBU sounds amazing, and yet I do not recall ever reading about it before. (I am acultural/anticultural, so apparently I have avoided reading anything which starts with the word 'Eurovision'.)

However, its primary purpose appears to be an exchange of content amongst its members.

I would envision the #CPB as primarily financial, and lobbying/negotiating funding with members' governments, other public & private funders.
