The forecast said sleet. But I've just had a walk through lovely fluffy falling snow - through the Botanics and Inverleith Park. Utterly beautiful. And, wearing thermals and a thick anorak, very cosy!

I was surprised to see curlews feeding on what must be frozen ground opposite Fettes!

(I did try taking pictures of falling snow, but they were rubbish.)

Now I'm off to the pub!

The reason I was out walking in the snow was because I had a hospital appointment. Aortic aneurysm screening.

Firstly, I had no idea *that's* where the aorta goes! (Roughly mid left all the way down the torso.)

Second, all it takes was a few minutes, given the all clear immediately.

Thirdly, screening for potentially deadly illness is a brilliant idea.

Fourthly, I love the NHS!

@patrickhadfield

And you saved about $20,000 compared to a north American country I will not name....

@uc well I'm happy to pay for the NHS in my taxes, and to pay for those who don't make enough to pay tax! But I was very aware that I didn't have to pay specifically for this test.
