Everyone on fedi loves calling Twitter a nazi bar

But on Twitter I can get real time analysis on what's going down in Venezuela by actual left-wing Venezuelans as well as commentary from other people in Latin America and the Caribbean who can put the shit in wider context

You know, Black and brown ppl from outside of the US and Europe, the very populations fedi struggles to attract and retain. But fedi definitely isn't a nazi bar, just a segregated one and that's TOTALLY different you guise

@so_treu Failing to attract demographics and segregating them are two very different things.

@iranon @so_treu

The fedi has a major problem with segregation. Driving non-white people away though hostility and harassment and even just constant reply guy bs until it’s a nearly all white space? If you don’t want to call it segregation, fine. But it’s sure quacking like a duck.

@minmi @so_treu Can you give me an example of that happening?

@iranon

I can’t dig up an example right now but this is a widespread and often discussed problem here.

@iranon here is a useful interview if you’re actually looking for insights on this https://logicmag.io/policy/blackness-in-the-fediverse-a-conversation-with-marcia-x/
