Wonderful walk in in high rocky basalt plateau in west Mull today. No snow (even on Ben More) but all ground frozen hard, and all the lochans were frozen so thick you could have skated or curled on them. 🀩 😊 #SomeLikeItCold #MonTheSnaw #Mull #Mountains #Scotland

@BashStKid Some of the ice crystals were well over 1m long. Bigger lochans were mostly very transparent, but wee ones often had beautiful hoar-frost dendritic overgrowths on the big primary water ice crystals. Really gorgeous!
