What do you want to see in Ultramarine 44? Suggest anything!

@ultramarine (With 0 disrespect and 100 admiration for the project) a slight logo refresh? The deep saturated navy blue always struck me as a bit garish… 😅

But in more productive suggestions, maybe a slightly more peppy website (using established websites as inspo) and some more collaboration with the FOSS and ecosystem at large to get your name further out there? Or maybe reaching out to mid-sized content creators to see if they wanna show off y’all to a wider audience!

@moshimotsu we are named after the colour so we’ll pawbably stick with ultramarine in the logo. as for the website we just did a major revamp a few months ago, do you have any specific feedback about it?

ecosystem wise we do a ton of work with our fellow downstreams (Bazzite and Aurora namely) and collaborate heavily with hardware enablement projects like Chrultrabook. we’re actually preparing to announce some more partnerships and some work upstream, so stay tuned for that

@ultramarine Oh wait I didn’t realize Bazzite was based on Ultramarine, that’s crazy!

My collaboration comment has more to do with a general sentiment I have that Linux/FOSS groups tend to only collab with other FOSS groups, e.g. with groups that already have a large demographic overlap. In general, I feel like projects could do well to push their comfort zones to try and penetrate the mainstream further. But that’s just my opinion!

As for the site, I’ll have another look!

@moshimotsu they aren’t based on us, we’re all based on Fedora, which makes sharing effort really easy (and we do through Terra and more direct collaborations)
