https://amandastjerna.se/blog/the-old-web-never-died/

just read this blog post by @amanda and it really resonated with me! Especially the parts about libraries and the bit that says that (sometimes) it makes sense to use the internet intermittently. In particular, I loved the time when mobile internet became reliably available in most places but data plans for normal people didn't really allow using it all the time. Maybe I'll go back to one such intrinsically limiting plan, which I'm sure would also be really cheap now.

Amanda Stjerna: The old web never died

@amanda to the "contribute to the commons" section, I would add OpenStreetMap! Not only is OSM glorious from a user perspective, it has also become extremely easy and fun to contribute to through apps such as StreetComplete.
(funny enough, I am writing this from a train in the Sicilian countryside and internet became unavailable right when I tried to post)
@harisont nice, I’ve actually done that myself and I should add it to the list, thanks!
