Wahoo! The kiddo has agreed to watch #FellowshipOfTheRing! 🧙‍♀️✨

One chance to hook her, do I go theatrical or extended cut? My gut says extended (might be the only time she watches it!), but she loves history and lore… the lack of PoCs has always been a hurdle (for me and likely her).

On the plus side, I love Tolkien and used to read her The Hobbit at bedtime, fingers crossed, some of that magic sticks. 💍📚

Which version would you pick for a first-time watch?

@DHS I think it depends on attention span. I know people that just can't do a 3 hour movie. If it was for me, I'd vote extended, but it's hard say for others.

@DHS I would also optimize for attention span. I have a weird bugaboo about the colors in some recent versions of the extended cut, as well, that make me lean towards theatrical.
