We JUST hit €40,000!!! That is HUGE, thank you all SO much!

However, we are still only halfway to our goal, so make sure to share, to support, and to let everyone know about .meow!

We will throw off the yoke of digital landlords, but we still need your help :3

And for now… champagne! Catnip! Celebrations!!

@dotmeow Will there be WHOIS privacy?
@jackemled @dotmeow that is a very good question
@jackemled @dotmeow it's an European org. So no.
@fuchsi @dotmeow I can't find anything saying that European TLDs don't or can't have WHOIS privacy. .eu actually seems to have it enabled by default.
@fuchsi @dotmeow Nevermind, multiple bad sources. I finally found something on whois.com & it does say .eu doesn't have it. I don't see why other TLDs can't have it though.

@jackemled @fuchsi

Heya, actually EU means it's more /likely/ to be potentially with whois privacy. But we cannot talk to much about this, as this is not our decision in the end, but a discussion about international regulations and conflicts b/w ICANN and EU GDPR etc.

From our POV: We want to be as private as reasonably possible and don't have interest in storing/collecting your data.

@UnnamedServal from further up in this thread :3
@dotmeow @jackemled @fuchsi the .pl TLD solved this by making WHOIS privacy mandatory for natural persons and unavailable for companies

@lunareclipse @fuchsi @jackemled Yep, but this is nothing that the registry has sole say on :/

But yes, we'll do what we can.

@dotmeow Love this idea, I just wish there was a way to send y'all money without having to make a kickstarter account.
@boojum hey! If you want to try and figure something out together you can email us at [email protected] :3 we are not opposed to one-off donations!
@dotmeow it's over €60000 right meow. Only €20000 (25%) left
