Suddenly a small collection of coins becomes an investment. ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿคจ
@Preston And up another $7 in two days!
@mishi Pretty crazy. I wish I'd bought more of those 10 oz bars from Scottsdale Mint while they were $300 each! ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ˜…
@Preston *wince* yes, though nobody expected this. BTW, I found this in a 1965 coin magazine. how about silver dollars for $1.69 each.

@mishi Amazing looking back. ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ˜Š .

One of my first jobs was working at a full-service gas station. We used to get a ton of change every day (gas being 89 cents/gallon at the time) from the busy traffic between New York and New Jersey as well as the vending machines. Occasionally, an angry customer would complain that the machines wouldn't take their dimes or quarters. I'd take them, give them a non-silver one in return and we were both happy. Too bad that my collection at the time was stolen by a family member. ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ˜“

Still, even as late as 2020, one could have purchased a dip:

@Preston Ugh, that's terrible!

Sure, people then were dumping silver and putting their money into companies making toilet paper ;) In any case, I hope you have a bear's den in silver saved up!
