Matchmaking in games just isn't the same. Playing with strangers for one round and never seeing them again feels empty. Dedicated servers were a real place. It was like going to the pub where you saw the same regulars, jerks, and admins every day. You built a community. Without that, gaming feels pretty lonely. #gaming
@stev3yd it's kind of strange how *taxing* it is to build a community in the modern matchmaking #gaming world. In many respects, it's never been easier to find a group to play with. But the bonds are often fleeting, and require a level of effort that I often find high to maintain. I'm super grateful for Discord and similar spaces that foster friendships but they often don't feel like the norm
