I'm doing something very very dumb.

It was raining all day today. And it's going to be a cesspool of ICE agents. (I have my whistle. My white skin will be good for something.)

But it's an almost 250-year tradition in Los Angeles. Though I'm not a Christian, I want to stand with my Mexican neighbors.

I'm on the bus to Las Posadas right now.

I honestly wish that this decision were completely apolitical. I wish that this was like every other year that I've lived in Los Angeles... a very, VERY fluffy event that's so G-rated, Hallmark writers think it's too wholesome.

But Trump has turned my neighbor's existence political. And this is an easy way to stand with them.

I'm not just going because there's champurrado.
