@duckz They've started the backpedal (my interpretation) with an update.

We're now to understand that "eliminate every line of C and C++ from Microsoft by 2030" does in fact not literally mean to "eliminate every line", instead it's just a research project to see if it's possible. Before 2030 for some reason?
