The sad state of appliance security

When a TV vendor (TCL) has a 2025 product that is shipped through reputable suppliers rather than as random chinese named junk that is shipping Android TV 12, and Linux 5.4 so no longer even supported for security fixes by Google.

The people doing this ought to get the same treatment as anyone selling exploding vapes, dodgy ebikes, out of date food and the like but no because it's software it's "magically" excluded.

@etchedpixels CRA will apply a welcome shock to some; including civil servants that glibly rejected adopting the CRA as we're not in the EU anymore.
