@cstross that point about the sports that kids get pushed into is pretty goddamn serious as well. I've played basketball my entire life until last year, I finally had to give it up, but I loved sports, still do. Basketball, baseball, a dozen others. Things I wouldn't let my kids do when they were young? Football, boxing -- I played football, I boxed 13 amateur fights and quit after my last knockout. Ears rang for 3 days.

The rotten shit conservative parents do to their kids goes on and on.

@cstross @fatsam Could also probably include rugby and Australian-rules football. But yeah, we do know the long-term effects of teens playing football(et al), and they’re bleak.
