Why LinkedIn amongst Microsoft shits?
Either it focuses on MS, or it talks about Google (ex-"Don't be evil"), Meta, Amazon (incl. AWS), Apple and others.
Microsoft buys LinkedIn - Stories

Microsoft’s $26.2-billion acquisition of LinkedIn aimed to grow the professional networking site and integrate it with Microsoft’s enterprise software, such as Office 365. The move allowed Microsoft to reach LinkedIn’s massive user base and put Microsoft’s sales and distribution heft behind what was already the world’s largest and most successful social network. LinkedIn retained its distinct brand and culture — and also its CEO, Jeff Weiner, who began reporting to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

@Yuvalne Thanks.
Ow, 9 years ago. I think my brain decided to forgot it.
@coq @Yuvalne it's a M$ product. it's even got its own keyboard shortcut in windows for crying out loud.

@vincep @Yuvalne

Oh! I didn't follow the story of LinkedIn.

Thanks!

@Yuvalne i like* the fact that all of these products are basically Copilot but with a different ui

*hate is the more accurate word

@Yuvalne
This explains why they killed Skype — it wasn't evil like the others 😢
@Yuvalne I'd love to know what's good too: that's what I need. (I feel at risk of becoming neo-Amish, pulling back from modern tech.)
@Yuvalne @acf probably need to sub a GitHub in there.
@Yuvalne i mean ms edge is better than google chrome in that you can actually install the proper ublock origin in it still
@Yuvalne also psa for anyone who doesnt know: ms edge still supports manifest v2 extensions, so if your choice is between google chrome and microsoft edge (say at work) then this is something to know
@Yuvalne other than that yeah michaelsoft gives off evil vibes
@Yuvalne I would replace edge with github.
Everyone know internet explorer had a nearly monopole on the web, bringing a bit of good like XHR and lot of bad like shit interoperability.
Then chrome came in and took its spot. Internet explorer in response evolved a lot and switched to edge. At one point, it was a decent alternative to chrome and alternative are good.
Sadly, youtube kept changing its code so edge played video w/out hardware decoding, until they switched to a chrome fork

@Yuvalne
Google being able to basically control web standards is very seriously troubling.
