R.I.P.

I thought he was amazing in Generation Kill and in The Wire, no matter how much people like to hate on that season. Very brave, very real, very troubled characters. Highly underutilized actor.

Season 2 is my favorite.
It has parallels with The Pacific, in that they do away with origin stories and exposition you’re already up to speed on from season one and dump you in another unfamiliar setting and that was just too jarring for a lot of people. But, yeah, season 2 is pure tragedy and as packed with details and connections as the other seasons. They write it so well, they make mundane work situations compelling.
David Simon said he wanted to make a show about the death of a great American city. The Docks show how the regular working class have been shit upon.
