#doublepastegate There has been a bug in #Windows11 for a number of months (years ?), when you copy paste text (ctrl C / ctrl V), the text is pasted twice almost each time.

I have looked for solutions online, people are talking about it, but no solution. How about you ?

@ericfreyss I wonder if the version or build makes a difference, because my employer has us on Windows 11 and I've never experienced that.

@ericfreyss I've seen it when pasting into some terminals. It's not just having echo turned on because it pastes the entire text string twice. If it was an echo problem, I'd expect it to double each character.

I just groan and backspace over the duplicated data. I can't even tell you for sure what apps are susceptible. But my guess is it's the individual app that's not handling the paste correctly.

@ericfreyss Now I have to pay attention. Specially since you say it's a widespread phenomenon.
Heck, if it's Notepad too, you can't blame poorly designed apps. Or… maybe you can!
