forgot that i cannot alt-text a link LMAO so youtube video contains yoshiki and the thing pretending to be hikaru singing a ballad that addresses a dear friend and encourages them to live as they please. the ballad is called "shadow of our days".

people can say wtf they want about the choir and the song etc. but this is so religious high school for real. forced to perform a choral song for a school /district festival. as a past forced school-choir girlie i love it.

i'm also a HUGE fan of how the song is used as a symbol, a message, and a warning every time it is sung (not practised). like thanks for catering specifically to ME.

oh i just realised their version leaves out the refrain about sorrow, so instead of joy, woe, sorrow, then bliss, they sing of joy, woe, and bliss... shared joy is doubled and shared sorrow is halved... closes my eyes.
