@u0421793 @Alice For the benefit of anyone reading who is too young to remember, the 0 comes after the 9 on a phone dial because sending 0 pulses to Strowger gear isn't going to do a lot, so the 0 sends ten.

There's a clue in the Alt Text. New Zealand's system was different. Dialling a 9 sent one loop disconnect pulse and so on round to 1 which sent nine πŸ™‚
