From time to time, I record little moments with our kids in Voice Memos. This morning was the last drive to school with our youngest because of changes coming next semester.
And of course, Voice Memos failed hard. Like I have the time to convince iOS I’m not actually on a call.
So angry to have lost this moment. It only lives in my memories, and those don’t work very well either.
I usually launch these recordings with the Quick Action shortcut in Control Center. It silently fails when Voice Memos is in this mode.
No warning of any kind. The button changes color while nothing is being recorded at all.
Personal data is the most critical thing a platform is responsible for - the creation, storage, and retrieval of that data are the absolute basics.
The ABSOLUTE minimal viable basics.
You can't trust products that can't do those things.
