Phew, just finished reading the document I got in the post the other day all the way from the US, about the Anthropic settlement (for them downloading books from pirate sites to use to train AI.)

Need a cuppa to recover from that much legalese. But it looks like I can make a claim. From a cursory check, I've got 3 books on the Works List, all of which I was the sole owner of at the time, as the rights had reverted to me. A few years before.

I'll sort the claim out in January. Fingers crossed it's all accepted. I still have all the notifications of rights reversions, my old contracts, etc. Then once that's in, put it out of my mind, because I'm sure it will be a very long time before anyone sees any payouts from it!

@beecycling I think that's a very healthy attitude--and whenever that money comes in, it will be a nice surprise, a gift from past you.

@herhandsmyhands Holding ones breath waiting for legal stuff happening is definitely not healthy! Settlement is still awaiting final approval. It could be appealed, all kinds of things could happen. Might go on for months if not years.
