Porridge spoon carved from a fallen branch of cherry wood.

This Sunday my Swedish porridge bowl, that I think is from the 1920s, rhymes in the following way:

Talets ström vid kaffet stiger
Den som äter gröt han tiger

(English translation is difficult, help is much appreciated)

#craft #crafts #woodcarving #greenwoodcarving #spooncarving #woodenspoon #eatingspoon #porridgespoon #cherry #christmas #porridge #slöjd #sloyd #handmade #handcraft #sustainability
The meaning of the rhyme roughly translates to:
The stream of the speech rises from the coffee
The one who eats porridge shuts up
@wnd Thank you very much for this third translation! I think this one gets shared first place ;)

@emilgoode
This is a very free translation but it feels something like:

"Coffee makes the conversation flow
Those who eat porridge are silent"

@emilgoode This is a really difficult translation. Here's my very liberally translated version:
"Coffee makes people talk.
He who eats porridge is silent."
Beautiful spoon!
@canyakker Thank you very much! I like your translation more ;)

@emilgoode

What a beautiful spoon ❤️
I don't speak Swedish so I can't help you there.

I can see a small knot. ;) Nicely smoothed out? You don't want your tongue or palate to get stuck on a knotty spoon, do you?
@valentinzi I think the knot adds more to the aesthetics than (k)not! It would be a good knot joke if that happened ;)
Beautiful special wooden carved spoon (again)! Knot so typical, though. :)
Gorgeous spoon!
@spoonsbyhanes Thank you so much! The grain of this piece of cherry wood did the decoration :)
@emilgoode this one is gorgeous. the beauty of the material intersecting with your skill makes it very special.
@potterybyosa Thank you so much for your very kind words! :)
